Grain & material balance
Smoked oak brings a warm tone and a visible natural grain to joinery, cladding and bespoke details. Within the studio’s palette it forms a counterpoint to stone, glass and metal; it appears in the Y38 material palette and wellness work.
Timber as a connecting layer
Smoked oak gives the palette a darker timber register. At Y38, it connects wall surfaces, doors and cabinetry, balancing the surrounding stone and metal.
Grain, joints & continuity
Grain direction, door divisions and the meeting of timber with adjacent finishes determine how continuous a surface feels. In the Spa & Wellness design, oak is part of the planned envelope. Veneer or solid construction, treatment method and protective finish remain product-specific choices.
