Architectural thinking. Sculptural presence.

Yaacov Avishai
Yaacov Avishai is an interior designer and founder of Studio Yaacov Avishai. His work spans private residences, hospitality and wellness, commercial interiors and synagogues, alongside objects developed for those spaces.
Drawing and making are closely connected in the studio’s work: a carved Thassos tivah for Between Sacred & Material, a sculptural ceiling and SEFIROT X basin for Adoniyahu, and the private and shared interiors of Y38.
Each commission brings together spatial planning, materials, lighting and detailed design. Bespoke joinery and objects are developed alongside coordination with the project team, within an agreed scope of work.
How we work
- 01
Concept & context
Understanding the brief, the place and how it will be used. Establishing the idea that guides the project.
- 02
Spatial design
Developing layouts, circulation and proportions, and coordinating building systems with the interior design.
- 03
Material & detail
Selecting materials, developing bespoke joinery and objects, and drawing the details that translate the idea into execution.
- 04
Design coordination
Working with the project team and reviewing details during implementation to carry the design through.
